Pathway Christian Academy in Kalona held its annual Benefit Auction Fundraiser on Friday, Feb. 20, inside the school’s gymnasium.
The event drew a strong turnout, with community members gathering to support the school by bidding on a wide variety of donated items.
Auction items included T-bone steaks, pork sausage patties, turkeys, beef briskets, subscriptions to The News, oil changes from Kalona Tire, charcuterie boards, and more.
Additional offerings featured locally raised frozen beef and pork, organic poultry, noodles, homemade frozen pizzas and freezer meals, along with baked goods such as fresh strawberry pies, rolls and bread.
The fundraiser also featured gift certificates from local businesses, including PinSeekers, Parkinetics, a one-night Airbnb stay, and car detailing services.
Many of the items were donated by vendors in the area. Proceeds from the auction support the school’s general operations and mission.
Local auctioneer Dwight Duwa led the auction, which began at 5:30 p.m. and continued until around 8 p.m. The concession stand was open throughout the evening.
Pathway Christian Academy hosts the benefit auction each February as a key fundraiser for the school.
