The Washington County Board of Supervisors has received a construction permit application for a confinement swine feeding operation, specifically described as follows:

Maximum number of confirmed animals in confinement: 4,350
Estimated annual animal production: 10,875
Animal Unit Capacity of the operation after completion of construction: 3,622 animal units.
The application and plan may be reviewed by the public in the office of the Washington County Auditor during regular weekday hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. through June 17, 2024. On June 18, 2024, the Board of Supervisors will conduct a public hearing on this matter at 9:00 a.m. in the Board’s chambers located at the Washington County Courthouse, 222 W. Main Street, Washington, IA. Public comments may be delivered to the Board of Supervisors at the hearing or to the office of the Washington County Auditor no later than 4:30 p.m. on June 17, 2024.
