Charlene Weaver, daughter of Ken and Paula Weaver of Wayland, was one of eight Buena Vista University students who interviewed George Bush, 41st President of the United States. He was the featured speaker for the 1999 William W. Siebens American Heritage Lecture at the school October 9.
Weaver, a junior political science major, served on the student panel who did the interview.
Weaver is a graduate of Mid-Prairie High School, and worked for The Kalona News during her high school years.
