The club met August 4 and Bill Clarahan was program chairman.
Last week’s program was presented by former Wellman resident, Howard Greiner, who has written a 484 page book with 180 illustrations in four parts. These cover growing up as a farm boy in rural Iowa during the depression, his military life: the bombing mission in which he was shot down over Germany and his struggles while being held a captive in a POW camp. Thanks, Dr. Jay, for this outstanding program.
Chairpersons for future meetings are Doug Achterhof, August 18th and Ed Miller, August 25th.
A thank you was received from Keth Houseal for a scholarship award to be used at ISU this fall.
The planning committee and family of Morgan Ebel also thanks the Rotarians for helping to make the Benefit Porkburger Supper and auctions such an overwhelming success. Over $25,000 was raised and donations are still coming in. What a caring area that supported this event!
The Vocational Service Committee was featured with James F. Palmer as chairman and goals for the coming year were shared.
