Though not unheard of, it is rare …

“This is our exit. You’d better slow down so we don’t miss it.”
Though not unheard of, it is rare to see a horse and buggy as far north of Kalona as Iowa City. To find this one, the last buggy in a line of 15, driving south on Highway 218, north of Highway 1 on the outskirts of Iowa City, was extremely surprising. The sign indicating the way to Kalona ensured the buggies left the four-lane highway at the right exit. Unlike some motorists, there was no possibility that they would go too fast to make the turn.
