The Riverside Theatre in Iowa City is scheduling auditions for the Young People’s Company (YPC) for students in grades 8-12.
This year, the Company will perform the Taming of the Shrew that runs July 15-18. Auditions and interviews are by appointment only and are at the theater at 213 N. Gilbert St., Iowa City, Saturday, April 17 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m., and Tuesday, April 20, 3:30-6 p.m. They are for those who intend to be in the full program, acting as well as technical. Interviews are for those who choose to be technicians only. A recent photo is required for those who wish to audition. There are approximately 70 positions available.
YPC tuition is $300 for full company members and $175 for technicians only. Liberal financial assistance is available, based on need. Rehearsals start June 14 with full-day ones for general company members and afternoon and evening calls for technicians.
