The four weeks between Thanksgiving and Winter Break are probably the busiest weeks of the year. It seems like a long four weeks but then it goes by in a blur. Winter athletics start up in full game and meet modes with several events happening during the weeknights and weekends. Add in music concerts and board meetings, and many nights get filled with a lot of activities.

Our Facilities Advisory Committee also met December 13. We believe we have narrowed down our choices for next November's bond issue. We know we need a second gym facility that we hope will be more multipurpose than just another gym complex. We also know we need to add another locker room for the female athletes. We also are looking at a possible early education center for the elementary building. That idea still needs more work and conversations. We will meet again in January to finalize a plan to take to the board and begin the bond process. Next November seems a long way into the future, but we want to be prepared and to provide as much information to everyone as possible along the way.

We have made it through the month of December without any weather events, but we all know that the months of January and February will bring some snow, ice, and wind. Weather events are never easy or fun to deal with in a school setting. With all the information available, the final call on a snow day is still not easy. Going to school is a lot easier than canceling and rescheduling all the events. But safety of the students will always be the number one priority.
