By the end of the parade, kids collected sacks of candy and even enjoyed popcicles.

Kids put in a lot of effort at this year’s highly competitive Pedal Pull.

Streamers, balloons, bubbles, and dance shoes decorated the float by Ark School of Dance, winner of the best float award.

Kalona, Riverside, and Wellman fire departments showered paradegoers with candy.

Miss Washington County 2022, Katie Leichty of Wayland, rode the parade route in a convertible.

Veterans and scouts led the Kalona Days parade on Saturday afternoon.

Kids loved the tractor-driven train ride, especially when it took them under a water sprinkler.

Food trucks and tents lined one side of the KCTC lot downtown, including that of Miller Family Homestead.

A line formed for pony rides on Saturday afternoon, and every kid was excited to take their turn.

Six Mid-Prairie alumni received Alumni Awards on Saturday, including Mary Ellen Miller, who received the Service Award.

This year’s pie baking champion was Mary Hershberger, who baked an amazing apple pie.
