KALONA They’ve been trusted local realtors for years, but technically they’ve worked out of Iowa City. Until now.
On Friday, Oct. 27, Jessica Yoder and Sarah Bigley officially joined Kalona Realty Inc., staking out a bit of office space at 221 1st St., Kalona.
“As much as we loved being at LKR [Lepic-Kroeger Realtors] – and we will miss everybody there and the business that we did there – we are excited to be bringing our office closer to home,” Bigley said.
“Kalona Realty has always been really rooted and invested in the local community here, so we feel it’s nice to be part of a company who is local,” she continued. “We’re excited to be part of an office who is already rooted here and supports this community.”
The pair, both of whom are Wellman residents, considered making the move to Kalona Realty a couple of years ago, but the timing wasn’t quite right. This fall, however, the stars have aligned; Yoder has a new lease on life, having turned the corner on her cancer journey, and Bigley’s two children are old enough to attend school and daycare, giving her more space in her career.
Working with Kalona Realty provides Yoder and Bigley an opportunity to better serve their real estate clients.
“We looked at where we did business the last several years, and the majority of it has all been Washington County,” Bigley said. “Washington, Riverside, Kalona, Wellman. We just love this area where we live, and it makes good sense to feel supported by other people who have the same values.”
“I like this smaller company feel; that was huge for me,” Yoder said, noting that Lepic-Kroeger serves some 60 realtors. Being part of a group of seven will no doubt feel more personal.
By working out of Kalona, Yoder and Bigley anticipate having a better sense of the local market; they’ll have a more immediate view of new properties as they become available. This will certainly be an asset for the clients they serve.
Aside from their shorter new commute to the office, Yoder and Bigley will still be the same team their clients trust and depend on. Their website and contact information remain unchanged.
Next time you drive by the Bulltowne Plaza in Kalona, consider a stop at the KRI office to welcome Yoder and Bigley home.
