At the end of November, Raven’s Nest Antiques & More, located at 433 B Ave, Kalona, will close its doors as owners Bob and Jeanne Hicola look forward to retirement.
“It was a good run. We’ve enjoyed it all the way,” Bob said Nov. 8, surrounded by a thinning selection of inventory. A storewide sale is being held to help move it all out; even the store’s fixtures are for sale.
The building has been sold and ownership is expected to turn over before Thanksgiving on Nov. 23.
The couple, who opened Raven’s Nest in October 2015, have not ruled out opening another antique store in the future, but likely it would be closer to their home in Coralville.
“I’ll still be buying and selling, but where and when I don’t know yet,” Bob said.
