HEA Negotiations Meeting

The meeting convened at 4:00 p.m. The following persons were in attendance.
Board of Directors Ken Crawford, Superintendent Sue Rich, Board Secretary Highland Education Association Jayme Kallaus, Clint Jones, Madi Osman, Peggy Schwab, Mike Eden, Carla Trees
The HEA presented their proposal for the 2024-25 school year. The proposal is to change language in 3 sections including employee workload, holidays and meetings. Regular contract would go to 165 days with 6 holidays. Additional meetings regarding other language and salary will be held once State decisions are made.

The meeting convened at 4:10 p.m. The following persons were in attendance.
Board of Directors Ken Crawford, Superintendent Sue Rich, Board Secretary Highland Education Association Jayme Kallaus, Clint Jones, Madi Osman, Peggy Schwab, Mike Eden, Carla Trees
The Board of Directors presented their proposal for the 2024-25 school year. The proposal is to change the contract from 184 days to 165 days and add additional language. Change extended contracts from 191 days to 171 days and change language to 6 paid holidays. Employees covered by this contract will not be required to stay for additional meetings after contract hours or participate in meetings before contract hours in the morning with some additional language changes. Salary increases will not be discussed until the State decides what state supplemental aid will be as well as additional language changes being discussed at a later date.
The remaining negotiations meetings will be held in closed session.
The meeting adjourned at 4:20 p.m.
