Board of Directors Special Meeting
Thursday, April 18, 2024
5:15 p.m. – Highland Board Room
The meeting was called to order at 5:16 p.m. by President Nate Robinson.
Roll call was taken with John O’Leary, Rachel Longbine, Monica Jepson, Dan Ruth, Joslin Schott, Karen Fink and Nate Robinson present. Also in attendance were Ken Crawford, Superintendent, Angela Hazelett, Secondary Principal, Bill Zywiec, Dean of Students and Sue Rich, Board Secretary.
Ruth made a motion to approve the agenda as presented. Seconded by O’Leary.
Motion carried 7-0
Longbine made a motion to hold a closed session as provided in Section 21.5 (1) (e) of the open meetings law to discuss whether to conduct a hearing, or conduct a hearing for suspension or expulsion of a student, unless an open meeting is requested by the student or the parent of the student. Seconded by Schott. Roll Call Vote-All Ayes.
5:18 pm. Motion carried 7-0
Ruth made a motion to return to open session. Seconded by Longbine.
5:52 pm Motion carried 7-0
Longbine made a motion to expel Student A according to the agreement. Seconded by Fink. Roll Call Vote-All Ayes.
Motion carried 7-0
Ruth made a motion to adjourn at 5:54 p.m. Seconded by Longbine. Motion carried 7-0
