Hillcrest Academy hosted their annual early bird meet on Tuesday night. Featuring teams from Class 1A to Class 4A.
Hillcrest Academy sophomore Leah Bontrager was the top local finisher. She placed eighth in the girls varsity race with a time of 23:44.
Madison Thomann, a Highland junior, was ninth in 23:47. Macie Bopp was the lone competitor for the Lone Tree girls and finished in 11th place in 24:13.
In the boys race, Alberto Cortes finished in 25th to lead the Lions in 21:25.
Collin Miller was the top finisher for the Hillcrest boys at 24:10.
Highland's Jacob Roling was 40th in the boys race, running 23:13.
The team champion for the girls was Iowa City High, who ran a perfect score of 15. The boys team champion was Cedar Rapids Jefferson, beating City High by four places to win.
Lukas Lamparek ran the fastest time of the night, finishing in 18:01 to pace Cedar Rapids Jefferson.
