FORMAL MEETING MINUTES
JUNE 16, 2023
Chairperson Green-Douglass called the Johnson County Board of Supervisors to order in the Johnson County Administration Building Boardroom at 11:01 am. Members present: V. Fixmer-Oraiz*, Jon Green, Lisa Green-Douglass, Rod Sullivan; absent: Royceann Porter.

Motion by Green, second by Sullivan, to acknowledge the request from the City of Tiffin to hold a Local Option Sales and Services Tax special election, and to set the date of September 12, 2023 for the LOSST election in the City of Tiffin and authorize the Auditor as Commissioner of Elections to conduct the election. Roll Call: Aye: V. Fixmer-Oraiz*, Jon Green, Lisa Green-Douglass, Rod Sullivan; absent: Royceann Porter.
Sullivan noted that local jurisdictions still have the authority to determine a local tax rate. County Auditor Travis Weipert said the City of Tiffin will fund this LOSST election. Tiffin City Administrator Doug Bolt spoke on the importance of this election.
