LONE TREE
Representatives of the Lone Tree Flyers made an appearance before the Lone Tree City Council on March 4. The Flyers wanted permission for camping to take place during their event in the following designated areas: east of Lone Tree Cemetery (500 N Devoe St.), east side of the American Legion (400 N Devoe St.), and at 103 S Devoe St.
The council approved the Flyers’ request.
The event the Flyers are sponsoring, their annual Fun Fly, will take place from June 7-8 and it will be their third year hosting.
Street Work Estimates
The City Council discussed two potential bids, one from LL Pelling and one from Kluesner Construction, for street work. The street work would be for Commercial Street, Devoe Street shoulder, and alleys.
Pelling has been Lone Tree’s go-to for years and has always been unopposed, but the council wanted to look for other bids in the hopes of a more cost-effective offer. While looking at the bids at face value, Klusener’s is less than Pelling’s, but there are some details they found that might make the Klusener bid almost as high as Pelling’s.
With more research and clarification needed to come to a decision, the council decided to table this discussion until a later meeting.
IMFOA Spring Conference
The council approved for the city to pay for registration, mileage, and hotel for City Clerk Steph Dautremont to attend the IMFOA Spring Conference taking place in Des Moines on April 18 and 19.
Future Meetings
In April the city council will have two meetings. Their first meeting will be on April 1 and their second meeting will take place on April 23.
