1. Public Hearing: Board President Sladek opened the Public Hearing at 6:30 PM. He asked if anyone from the Public wished to speak on the 2024-2025 School Year Proposed Property Taxes.
a. The Public Hearing was closed at 6:32 PM with no public comment.

2. Call to Order: Sladek called the regular meeting to order @ 6:32 PM

3. Roll Call: Gordon Viers, Robert Sladek, Michael Hotz, Jenni Eden, Alex Ogren-remote.

4. Approval of Agenda: Viers motioned to approve the agenda, M. Hotz seconded. Motion carried. 5-0.

5. Public Comment: None

6. Principal’s Report
a. Nutrition Director: The food service Director Erik Isenhour reported on the food service department. Adjustments have been made to help drive down costs, creating more meals from scratch, one service line, and applying for a grant for local produce. Isenhour would like to create a head cook position for the 2024-25 school year.
b. MS/HS Principal: Principal Koshatka reported on NHS inductions, Kirkwood Construction Apprenticeship Career Fair, Middle School SEISC performance at Highland, Senior Class receiving the Carrie Chapman Catt Award, Office Referrals, ISASP, update on cell phone testing.
c. Elementary Principal: Principal Jacque reported on the success of the elementary science fair, solar eclipse (thanked the parents that donated eclipse glasses for the students), UFLI Literacy Foundations for k-2, office referrals, end of the year communication, staff/student attendance, elementary carnival Friday, April 19th.

7. Consent Agenda
a. Previous Meeting Minutes: Viers motioned to approve the previous meeting minutes, M. Hotz seconded. Motion carried 5-0.
b. Finance Report: SBO Tharp reported on the March financials.
c. Payment of Bills: M. Hotz motioned to approve the payment of bills, Viers seconded. Motion carried 5-0 .
d. Open Enrollment Requests: Viers motioned to approve the open enrollment requests, M. Hotz seconded. Motion carried 5-0.
i. Open Enrollments In:
1. 2023-2024 School Year: Rogan Menzer (K), Mayah Lamb (5th), Alice Alden (6th), Serenity Schjodt (8th),
2. 2024-25 School Year: Cole Jones (K), Tenlee Ronan (K), James Ronan (K), Kaislyn Hudson (K), Crew Kile (K).
ii. Open Enrollments Out: None
e. Personnel Items: Viers motioned to approve the personnel items, M. Hotz seconded. Motion carried 5-0.
i. New Hires: Misty Soukup- Instructional Coach (Half-Time), Rhonda Lacina- Mentor Teacher, Donda Nebergall- Mentor Teacher, Katherine Leibold- Teacher Leader, Brittney Dvorsky- Teacher Leader, Sierra Floura- Teacher Leader.
ii. Resignations: Lora Sieverding- Co-Head Volleyball Coach, Sonda Prybil- Co-Head Volleyball Coach, Tanya McCarty- Speech, Elyssa Mills- JH Softball Coach.

8. Old Business
a. Board Policy: 705.4 & 705.4 R1- The board discussed some of the community members concerns regarding policy 705.4 & 705.4R1. Supt. Hotz is scheduled to meet with the FFA Chapter on Thursday, April 18th to go over public purposes and to answer any questions the members may have. Board Secretary Williams reached out to the Iowa Association of School Boards to set up a workshop in July to review these policies. The board discussed moving the July workshop to the 10th of the month.
b. Board Policy: 300 Series (Second Reading)-
i. Viers motioned to approve the second reading of the 300 series, Eden seconded. Motion carried 5-0.
c. Registration Fees-
i. Viers motioned to approve the 2024-25 school registration fees, Eden seconded. Motion carried 5-0.
d. FY 2024-25 Budget- SBO Tharp gave a brief overview of the FY 2024-25 budget.
i. M. Hotz motioned to approve the 2024-25 school year budget as presented, Viers seconded. Motion carried 5-0.
e. FY 2024-25 Budget Guarantee-
i. Viers motioned to approve that the Board of Directors of Lone Tree Community School District will levy property taxes for fiscal year 2024-2025 for the regular program budget adjustment as allowed under section 257.15, Code of Iowa, Eden seconded. Motion carried 5-0.
f. Resolution levying a tax for Fiscal Year 2024-2025 for the future optional redemption of General Obligation School and Refunding Bonds, Series 2017, approving related documents and directing the partial optional redemption of such bonds.
i. M. Hotz motioned to approve the Resolution levying a tax for Fiscal Year 2024-2025 for the future optional redemption of General Obligation School and Refunding Bonds, Series 2017, approving related documents and directing the partial optional redemption of such bonds,Viers seconded. Motion carried 5-0.

9. New Business
a. Board Policy: Policy Primer (First Reading):
i. Eden motioned to approve the first reading of the policy primer update, Viers seconded. Motion carried 5-0.
b. LTEA Agreement
i. M. Hotz motioned to approve the agreement between the LTEA and LTCSD as presented, Viers seconded. Motion carried 5-0.
c. Certified Contracts
i. Viers motioned to approve the 2024-25 certified contracts, Eden seconded. Motion carried 5-0.
d. Classified Contracts
i. Viers motioned to approve the 2024-25 classified contracts, Eden seconded. Motion carried 5-0.
e. Admin/Director Contracts
i. Viers motioned to approve the 2024-25 contracts for Directors, Principals, and Superintendent, Eden seconded. Motion carried 5-0.
f. Coaches/Sponsor Contracts
i. Eden motioned to approve the 2024-25 contracts for coaches and sponsors as presented, Viers seconded. Motion carried 5-0.
g. 28E Agreement: Transportation Director
i. Viers motioned to approve the 28E agreement with Mid-Prairie to share the position of Transportation Director for the 2024-25 school year, M. Hotz seconded. Motion carried 5-0.

10. Superintendent’s Report: Supt. Hotz gave a brief update on the start of the 2024 summer project: (track, SIAC, electrical system for the wellness center generator)
a. Future Agenda Topics: general school ranking lists.

11. Adjourn: Viers motioned to adjourn the regular meeting, Eden seconded. Motion carried 5-0.
