1. Call To Order Special Session: Sladek called to order the Special Session @ 6:32 PM
2. Roll Call: Yedlik, Ogren, Hotz, Viers, Sladek Via Zoom
3. Approval of Agenda: Yedlik motioned to approve the agenda, Ogren seconded. Motion carried 4-1 Hotz Nay.
4. New Business
A. Discussion/Approval 600 Series Policy Second Reading: No changes.
Viers motioned to approve the 600 Series Policy Second Reading, Yedlik seconded. Motion carried 4-1 Hotz Nay.
B. Discussion/Approval Roof Bids North Gym: The district has requested roof bids from multiple vendors and have only received one. The Board would like to see a second bid before moving forward. Viers motion to table further this item until the board meeting on May 17th, Ogren seconded. Motion carried 4-1 Yedlik Nay.
C. Discussion/Approval Sale of Staff Computers: DeVore presented the option to change the procedure of staff buying their work computer when they leave the district. Viers motion to table the sale of computers until more information is available on what the procedure might look like, Yedlik Seconded. Motion carried 5-0.
D. Set Public Hearing Date for 2023-2024 Calendar: DeVore presented four possible Calendars for 2023-2024, and the calendar recommendation from the work with staff. The Public Hearing date has been set for May 22 @ 5:30 PM in the Superintendent’s office.
5. Adjourn Special Session: Hotz motioned to adjourn the special session, Viers seconded. Motion carried 5-0.
6. Call to Order Workshop: Sladek called workshop to order @ 7:09 PM
7. New Business
A. Discussion Elementary Handbook: Elementary Principal Jacque presented to the board recommendations to the 500 Series policy for the upcoming school year handbook. Discussed were proposed updates to the absentee policy. Mrs. Jacque and Mr. Koshatka are collaborating together on changes they feel should be made to keep the truancy days accurate.
B. Discussion of Xello: Mr. DeVore shared information with the board about the college and career readiness software Xello.
C. Discussion Lunch Low Balances: Mr. DeVore provided updates on the current lunch low balances. The district has made four attempts to contact those with low balances. The district’s next step will be a final attempt at receiving payment or a payment plan. If payment or payment plans are not successful the next step will be to take the balances to small claims court.
D. Discussion of Financials: Business Manager Tharp updated the board on processes and procedures on financial board reports.
E. Discussion JH Softball Options: Mr. DeVore is inquiring about different avenues for a JH student that is still interested in playing JH softball.
8. Adjourn: Yedlik motion to adjourn the board workshop, Viers seconded. Motion carried 5-0.
