Lone Tree teachers to see pay raise thanks to state legislation

Although contracts have yet to be signed for the 2024-25 school year, Lone Tree teachers should expect raises in the near future, thanks to Iowa legislation that increased teacher salaries within the state.

Before this legislation passed, base salary for Lone Tree teachers would’ve been set around $40,050. After the bill was signed, the starting salary for Lone Tree teachers will be $47,500.

Thus, teachers with zero to 11 years of experience will have a minimum salary of $47,500. Teachers with 12 or more years of experience will have a minimum salary of $60,000.

This ensures that many Lone Tree teachers will get raises – some more and some less than others – to get everyone at their designated minimum salary for next school year.

The board seeks to approve these changes at their next school board meeting on Wednesday, April 17.
