Motorcyclist seriously injured in crash near Riverside

Last Thursday evening at approximately 7:30 p.m., emergency crews responded to a motorcycle crash near Riverside. The driver was identified as James Taylor of Illinois, who was operating a 2025 Harley-Davidson trike.

According to the report, Taylor was traveling on the southbound on-ramp to Highway 218 when he lost control of the motorcycle, causing it to leave the roadway and come to rest in the ditch west of the on-ramp.

When deputies with the Washington County Sheriff's Office arrived, they found Taylor unconscious but breathing. He was also bleeding from the ear and had suffered a wrist injury.

Taylor was transported to the University of Iowa Hospital with serious injuries.

Also assisting at the scene were the Riverside Fire Department, Riverside QRS, Washington County Ambulance and Bulltown Towing.
