Abigail Knight, 35, of Riverside was arrested May 24, by the Washington County Sheriff’s office for Sexual Exploitation of a Minor. The arrest followed a tip from the Pearland Police Department in Texas and a subsequent search of Knight’s residence, investigators from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Federal Bureau for Investigations, Iowa Department of Criminal Investigations, and Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force located evidence that Knight was involved in the production and dissemination of child pornography.
Knight was indicted in the US District Court for the Southern District of Iowa July 6 on 12 federal offenses with seven counts of Production of Child Pornography, two counts of Conspiracy to Commit Sexual Exploitation of a Child, two counts of Distribution of Child Pornography, and one count of Possession of Child Pornography. Following the indictment Knight’s custody was transferred to federal authorities.
